ABOUT ME

Tim Hodges Photography

Every picture tells a story .... the better the picture the better the story!

MY STORY

My love affair with photography started when I first picked up my mother's Brownie box camera.

Fast forward several years and, purely as a hobby, I enrolled on a City & Guilds photography course.

Three years later I graduated from Bracknell & Wokingham College as Student of the Year and a passion to succeed as a professional photographer.

Prior to this I had a number of roles in the Corporate world,  concerned with Purchasing, Contracts and Sales in the Aviation and Computer Industry sectors.

My professional break-through came with an invitation to photograph the Queen and Prince Philip, at the House of Lords, along with the Gold Staff Officers (who conducted the congregation to their seats in Westminster Abbey) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Coronation; a memorable gathering which was repeated in 2013 on the 60th anniversary of the Coronation.

I am now a regular visitor to the House of Lords and the Mansion House where I am on the preferred list of accredited photographers, and a selection of my photographs and notelets are on sale at the House of Lords gift shop and the Central Hall Westminster.

I have now been awarded a Royal Photographic Society Associate Distinction which means I can put the letters ARPS after my name.

With my business experience, I can relate easily to my clients. This helps to make them relaxed and put them at their ease.

Having lived in Wargrave for 40 years, I am well known in the area and it gives me much pleasure to capture our community spirit with my camera.

To put it simply, I enjoy photography.

In summary, I am one of those extremely lucky people who are able to combine their passion with their business.  Being a professional photographer has given me access to people and places I couldn't have dreamed of when I was a child.

And yes, I still have that Brownie box camera in pride of place in my studio.
